What to Expect During the Service Upgrade Process
Here is a rundown of what to expect during your upgrade process and the steps you need to take to get started.
1.Call for an estimate (free on most local jobs).
2.We will give you a set price or, if you prefer, we work by the hour plus materials.
3.We mail or fax the estimate to you. If you accept, you would then sign, date, and mail it back to us. At this time, the estimate becomes a contract.
4.You wil need a disconnect number and reconnect number obtained from Appalachian Electric Power at (800) 982-4237, Black Diamond Power at (304) 683-5281, or whomever the provider for your power is.
5.Call us with those numbers and we will obtain the permit from Code Enforcement and arrange for the inspection after completion, as well as obtaining a new meter base.
6.We will give you this information with your estimate.
During the actual service upgrade, the power will be off for approximately 5-6 hours while we switch circuits from your existing breaker box to a new breaker box. We ask that you prepare for any special medical needs while the power is off.
